The Word today offers praise and thanks: For so many marvels I thank you: a wonder am I, in all your works I wonder. Read Psalms 139:13-18. A Christian speaks of taking things of gratitude instead of taking them for granted. To live more gratefully is to live more fully, Attentiveness to little daily gifts help us respond in life with gratitude. The gifts are simple - a smile from a child, a kind word. lunch with a friend. a simple red rose outside a window. Those simple gifts signify the fullness of life. Our difficulty comes not in discovering a daily gift but in deciding which one to record, for many await our notice and unwrapping. God gifts abound, calling forth gratitude. Researchers have found that grateful persons tend to have more vitality, are more positive, emphatic, generous, helpful, are less depressed and stressed, and place less importance on material possessions. They note that gratitude encourages a positive cycle of reciprocal kindness among people. Noticing Gods little gifts is responding and gratefully can transform us. The moment our feet hit the floor, we are alert to Gods presence and lean into the day with anticipation. the psalmists words of praise on our lips: For so many marvels I thank you: a wonder am I, in all your works I wonder.
