The YAMs were Challenged tonight by our highly educated ,dedicated and God fearing Christian Education Director, Dr. Marshall. She passed out a tricky worksheet having us to check all the situations which we were seeking God for only to find out that each question correlated to a god that we have studied in the last 9 weeks and could become idols if placed above our relationship with Christ. She also passed out high end cardstock ( that most gawked over) and challenged us to articulate our individual understanding of who God is using symbols NO WORDS OR NUMBERS! The Yam creativity flowed. The culminating question to meditate on was simply, Is God alone Adequate for you? She posed the following question; How does the government recognize a counterfeit bill. The answer, They study the REAL BILL so much that once they see the counterfeit they KNOW WITHOUT QUESTION THAT IT IS FAKE! Do we know God for ourselves so that when the world presents false perspectives or characteristics about him we can immediately decipher whats false and whats true? Two key scripture references James 3:17 The Guide in making decisions. Genesis 22 First definition of Worship established. We will be meeting for the last Bible Study Experience Dec. 2 at 6:15pm. Enjoy this Thanksgiving Season knowing for a Christian EVERY DAY is a day of THANKSGIVING! Dr. Marshall gave us some enrichment material to start us off focusing on the character of God.
