The active fundraising process for Kevins surgeries is coming to an end. I know I have put everything online, and anybody who wants to track can ably do so, starting June 16. A summary of how the money has been spent is as follows: $5600 was transferred directly to Manipal Hospital (Josephine has the transfer form); A return air ticket for Josephine ($1033); an air ticket for Kevin in kind (at the time of fundraising we costed it at 2,500,000); Out of pocket for Josephine at $30 for 26 days ($780); 460,000 Visa costs. Operationally, I checked this morning on my MTN MobMoney and I have so far loaded 289500 in air time (Does not include the 5K Stella contributed to airtime). This 289500 is what I have used to load bundles, and make phone calls. On June 26, I hired a cab (sh65K) to go pick money from MTN Forest Mall, Western Union, Money Gram, and the Lohana Community to witness the sh5M cheques hand over ceremony. This cost includes waiting charges. Given that my number had been suspended, there were back and fourth discussions at MTN. I had to hire a cab because of my movement restrictions at the time. I was on bed rest. The exchange rate that Josephine used was $2064, and NOT the $2500 we used for the campaign. With this I call upon any auditors to volunteer their time to check the facts. As practice must be, I cannot be a fundraiser, my own accountant, and auditor. I will be available to respond to any questions. Once we are done, I will let you know how much money is on Kevins account for the second operation. Once again, thank you for your generosity. We continue to pray for all medical procedures.
