The ancient Moors were considered magicians, alchemists, sorcerers, and diviners because of their knowledge and mastery over the written word. They were known to cast spells which essentially means that they could activate language, wielding words to serve their purpose. Often we find ourselves at the affect of words, restrained by a language that has most commonly attempted to render us in-human, other. But like our ancient ancestors we retain the ability to shape-shift, re-define, and re-cast words to serve us.
