The apostle Paul told us in Phillipians 2:12 to "work out your own - TopicsExpress

The apostle Paul told us in Phillipians 2:12 to "work out your own salvation with fear and trembling." So then, how are we doing at this? Do we show a meek and teachable spirit when given exhortation? Or, do we rather let rebellious pride stand in our way and reject biblical reasoning? Do we seek out the counsel and praise from those that would flatter us and tell us what we want to hear? Or, do we seek out the wisdom of God through His Word and Spirit and the counsel of spiritually mature brothers and sisters? When people give us a biblically based exhortation, do we ignore what they have to say and instead look for reasons to find fault or point fingers at the one(s) giving the exhortation? One way is the way of the flesh and leads only to death. The way of humility is the mark of personal growth in the fruitages of the Spirit and leads to life eternal. What way will we choose today?
