The application period for Certified Local Government Grants for - TopicsExpress

The application period for Certified Local Government Grants for FY 2014 now open. As you may know, North Carolina receives annual appropriations from the Federal Historic Preservation Fund. States are required to give at least 10% of their funding to Certified Local Governments as subgrants. These grants can fund a wide variety of projects including: surveys, National Register nominations, rehabilitation work, design guidelines, educational programs, training, structural assessments, and feasibility studies, to name a few. PLEASE NOTE: Unfortunately, privately-owned and religious buildings are NOT eligible. Our application period for FY 2015 Historic Preservation Fund grants for Certified Local Governments (CLGs) in North Carolina is now open. Although we do not yet know how much funding will be available, we estimate that it will be between $90,000 and $95,000. The postmark deadline for FY 2015 grants will be Friday, February 27, 2015. This information will also be posted on our website at hpo.dcr.state.nc.us/. Please note that we do need all applicants to discuss potential projects with an HPO staff member before submitting an application. This will help ensure that the proposed project meets grant guidelines and has a realistic scope of work and budget. If you have a project in mind but are not sure whether or not it would be eligible, please give HPO Grants Coordinator Michele McCabe at 919.807.6582 a call to discuss. Remember that not-for-profit organizations and educational institutions within a CLG’s jurisdiction are also eligible to apply. PLEASE NOTE: Unfortunately, privately-owned and religious buildings are NOT eligible.
