The average American spends $7,852 a year on food. No wonder why my butt is getting so big, Im spending the equivalent cost on a used car to feed myself. Meanwhile blood and turmoil all around the world continues with people in dire need of humanitarian aid from Gaza to Central Africa to Syria to the Philippines to Burma to the streets here in the U.S. So check this out yo. Were all fasting in Ramadan right, so thats basically not eating lunch every day for a month. There are roughly 4 million Muslims living in the United States, so if each of us gave our lunch money for the month ($215.71) to charity, wed raise $862,840,000. In other words, WED RAISE ALMOST A BILLION DOLLARS. So lets do it yo. Like for reals, donate our lunch money to charity - $215.71. Were not using the money anyway, so whats the big deal in giving it to people in need who could use it way more than we could? So lets do it. Its fun, and it feels good. Most importantly, it helps make the world slightly better than what it was before. I donated my lunch money to Islamic Relief, who are doing a remarkable job right now helping those in Gaza. They havent asked me to do this and you can donate to whomever youd like. Just give something to anything, even if all you can spare is a few bucks. I pray Allah keeps my intentions pure in writing this, as I am only posting this status to encourage others to donate in the same way.
