The beautiful Margaret ~Henry (Nee Vaughan) wife of Mitchell Henry who built Kylemore Abbey. We dont know many details about this portrait only that it was willed to the nuns by Margarets second youngest daughter Florence Henry who died in 1959. Florence lived in Bunaboghee house near Letterfrack and was the last of the Henrys in the area and a very well liked character. Josephine Aspell late of Letterfrack was her housekeeper for many years. This portrait was originally full length but was cut down to fit Florences more modest home. The close up photos show Margarets gold wedding band along with a pearl ring, her mother of pearl fan and a gold bracelet and emerald ring.This portrait hangs in the drawing room at Kylemore Abbey.
