The beheading of American journalist James Foley by the ISIS terrorists repulses me. It underlines the fact that President Obama never should have pulled our troops out of Iraq. I vividly recall President G.W. Bush warning the American public shortly after 911 that we were likely going to have to combat Islamic terrorists for many, many years and perhaps our lifetime. The majority of the U.S. citizens supported his actions at that time. Thanks to our brave troops, we actually did a pretty good job of eradicating the terrorists from that area. Then along came Obama, he boasted that he had defeated the terrorists, then he pulled us out of Iraq. Now we have newly formed terrorist groups such as ISIS that are beheading and slaughtering Christians that wont denounce their faith. It is my belief that we need to answer this sickness by re-entering Iraq, guns blazing, with the goal of killing as many Islamic terrorists as we can. Yes that means boots on the ground also. And we will need to have a presence there when we are done. I actually thought Obama gave a tough message today about the savage killing of Foley, but then I hear that he immediately left to hit the links again with his buddies. I wonder if he will follow through after his speach with equally tough actions, but his past behavior leaves me with doubts. The next time we pick a president it will be more important than ever to chose one thats going to be stand up for the American way and be willing to defend her. That should be his or her most endearing quality, even more important than the myriad of social issues that our current president is trying to change for the worse. So I urge you, in these frightening times, make your next presidential pick based primarily on this qualitiy.
