The best moments at the Kentucky Horse Park often come after the shows when the horses and handlers meet visitors up close and personal. Addie, a 13-year-old visitor from Medina, OH, and Spinner, a Quarter Horse from the park’s Horses of the World show, recently shared a very special moment. Addie’s mother Andrea told us that Addie has a rare bone disease, Osteogenesis Imperfecta, that causes her bones to break all the time, often for no reason. She has had more than 100 fractures and 26 orthopedic surgeries. She has a strong love for animals and seems to have a real connection to them, as her interaction with Spinner clearly shows. Her mother also told us that “Addie is truly an amazing kid!” We couldn’t agree more! Photos courtesy of Steve Faust, pixbysteve.smugmug.
