The best part of matches, specially if you win, is the time the two teams get together afterwards and just shoot the breeze, usually in the dressing room. It was lovely to have the Lahore boys over for a long chat while the press conference and other formalities were being concluded. Finally, some of the younger ones shyly came up to have pictures taken with the likes of Gautam, Sunil and Wasim. When we finally left the ground, Wasim quietly told us that for their domestic league, which they had to win to qualify for the Champions League.., they were paid the equivalent of Rs 900 per match.
