The biggest challenges facing humanity are global and borderless: climate change, economic crisis, terrorism, slavery, poverty and inequality, food and water shortages, energy...the list goes on. All of these stretch across national borders, but most countries behave as if they were islands, focusing on domestic solutions to domestic problems. We’ll never get anywhere until we change this insular perspective.
