The boys and I are just back from a whirlwind trip to my parents (Bob Jean Andersen Poodiack) in Connecticut. Sometimes you just need to see your mommy and daddy (or grandma and grandpa). The trip back today was all sorts of exciting: departure from NF delayed for a few hours by freezing rain, and the road conditions widely varied. It was not good leaving NF up into Dutchess County. Google Maps sent us across the Hudson, away from that stuff, over to 87 where it was just wet all the way to Glens Falls. It started icing up again through Queensbury, and then we got behind a long succession of snowplows sanding and salting at 20 mph, from Queensbury to Fort Ann to Whitehall to Fair Haven. Followed a nervous 18-wheeler up 22A until we got to about Shoreham, and then the temperature went up a couple of degrees and the road became plain wet again. Finally passed the truck and had smooth sailing back to the house.
