The boys and I went to Vons to get hot dogs for pigs in a blanket and a few other treats. As I pass an old lady she says; he gonna fall. I look around and say who? Thinking one of the boys is climbing on things. She looks at this old guy hanging on to a shopping cart. I look and sure enough it looks like he is hanging on for dear life. I reach for the old guy and as soon as I do that he starts to collapse. Seth held his other hand. A merchandiser is trying to get by and I tell him to go get help. People are now watching. I have to yell at the guy to run! I see a woman and ask her to help cause he was slipping on me. I had my knee out so he could rest on my lap but he was heavy. She came to me and I tell her to go on the other side and hold on to him. Finally a man watching comes and grabs him from behind and says he gonna place him on the floor. The old guy has a grip on the shopping cart and I have to pry his hand loose and he looks at me with such loving hands. Once I get his hand loose I tell Seth to move the shopping cart and he does a good job making sure not the hurt the old man. Another guy brings a bag of dog food to rest the old guys head on. A woman comes saying she a nurse and she starts helping him. A woman tells Seth to get back and I say hes with me. She smiles and says sorry. I point to the nurse and say; shes a nurse do what she says. Staff has come and the nurse ask if anyone has called 911. They call right then. I take the boys out of there and thank the old woman for telling me he needed help. We hoped we would see the ambulance before we left but we didnt. Seth understood a lot about being where youre suppose to be at the right time. Seth knew if the old guy fell he would have hurt himself and also thought the hold he had on that basket could have caused it to come down on him also. Ill check with the store tmrrw to make sure the old guy was alright. So I can report to the kids next time.
