The bush in the photo, known as the Whitethorn Acacia (Acacia constricta Bentham) is common here. As you roam around in the summer, you encounter them quite often displaying their small fluff ball yellow flowers. What attracted me to them besides the color is that they are quite fragrant. Another thing I notice about them is their resilience. The flowers begin to fade to orange, pods form and ripen— you think their time has passed, and then it rains. Within days, the flowers are back in abundance. Another pleasing demonstration of the abundance found here in the desert.
