The campaigning is over, and all those elected now must prove they can govern. On the federal level, the presidential veto remains a check on legislative excess. In the blue states, perhaps its time for liberals to start making some noise about states rights. And in our state, the battle moves to local and tribal governments. The fight is far from over. If the price of freedom is eternal vigilance, we can hardly expect to keep our liberties by just standing watch once every two years.
