Ive summarised the speakers arguments (rather poorly) in the following terms: 1 the historical trend in discovered explanations — there are thousands of things that man once thought god to be responsible for (lightening, weather, disease, etc.); these are phenomenon that we now understand through science ie naturalism wins every time over theism; 2 divine silence — “all god has to do is talk to me” but he never does…; 3 divine inaction — why doesn’t god intervene to protect the innocent? 4 the universe looks more like a mess than something an intelligent engineer would design; indeed, only a tiny, tiny part of the universe (0.00001%?) is hospitable to life. But the only way an extremely improbable event like the origin of life could happen by accident is in exactly the kind of universe that we observe.
