The cases today...the first one involved a little dog severly injured by a much larger dog. The defendant claimed the little dog was not on a leash but I believed the plaintiff when he stated his dog was leashed. The larger dog was not and attacked. The defendant did try to come up with money for the vet bill which turned out to be $6000.00. He had borrowed money and paid about 1/2 and did admit responsibility. AMAZING...a defendant actually admitting he, as the dog owner, was at fault. JJ complimented him by saying he wasnt a jerk :-) The 2nd case...the plaintiff was such a liar! I didnt buy his story of the event at all. The statement the eight year old daughter of the defendant had given to the police right after the incident was very believable. And JJ pegged the plaintiffs witness right...Miss Troublemaker! The 3rd case...why would any parent give a credit card to a 25 year old daughter who was employed full time and living with her boyfriend? The mother and daughter tried to claim the boyfriend stole the card and used it. JJ saw through that BS lol! The defendant admitted to using the card out of state for himself and JJ awarded just that small amount to the plaintiff. The daughter was a big liar and snookered her mother. The last case made me smile...the plaintiff wanted her dream car back. It was a 1972 VW Beetle being restored. The defendant, her ex boyfriend, didnt bring the title for the car with him to court. JJ said You didnt want to lose the title to her or to me? She ordered that the title be turned over to the plaintiff. Good decision :-)
