The choices we make in life can lead us in many directions. Choose your friends wisely, and fellowship wisely. We all know the risks involved when someone chooses to drive under the influence, especially when it is more than just a few drinks in the course of an evening. Some people carelessly take it to extremes, sometimes causing lives to parish while driving drunk or high. This fathers plea to the world to make better choices, comes from the pit of his soul and with a broken heart. For anyone that is struggling with addiction, there is hope to overcome through strength and courage. As this man says, Pull up your bootstraps, and talk to God. -- He will lead you straight -- but you have to truly want it, fight for it, be strong of heart, have the willpower to overcome and prevail, and choose your surroundings and friends that fit in with the life you want to live. You may suffer from the consequences of your mistakes, we all do at some point, but be accountable and dont blame others. You may need to get help from a doctor, maybe some counseling and medication to help with possible triggers such as anxiety and depression. And finding a Church home, going to Worship, studying the Word, and befriending/surrounding yourself with others that have the same goal to follow Christ, does help. No one that goes to Church is perfect, we all have issues within ourselves, relationships, and the sometimes complicated issues of daily living -- but it helps to know that youre not alone, and that you dont have to be. God is always there for you, just open your heart to Him. Trust Him. Know Him. Love Him. Follow Him, not the World. Talk to Him, share your struggles with Him, He will help you bare the burdens of life. Through Him, you will find peace, love, happiness, and when the time comes, eternal life in Heaven.
