The city of Indianapolis should rejoice at this news and take note of where the numbers were 15 years ago compared to today. We have a lot of work to do still to get to zero but with the continued spay neuter efforts and the tireless rescue work of shelters we will get there! It takes BOTH spay neuter and adoption to make Indy No Kill. Rescue groups and shelters continue to pull animals as they can from kill shelters and spay/neuter organizations work to keep future generations from getting there in the first place. And YOU play a huge role too - spreading the word, adopting from shelters instead of buying pets at a store, donating when you can and getting the animals in your care and community cats fixed. Thank you for your continued support of groups like ours and others like Humane Society for Hamilton County (Indiana), Southside Animal Shelter, Indianapolis Animal Care & Control, Spay-Neuter Services of Indiana, Low Cost Spay Neuter Clinic, Humane Society of Indianapolis, ReTails Indy, Cats Haven, Humane Society of Johnson County, Hendricks County Humane Society, and so many others.
