The city of Los Angeles had a water main break yesterday at about - TopicsExpress

The city of Los Angeles had a water main break yesterday at about 330 in the afternoon up until 7 p.m. During this time at least 75 thousand gallons of water per minute which equates to about 16 million gallons that was lost before they were able to shut the water off. In California we have a severe drought right now and there are fines imposed of up to $500 for people over watering the lawn hosing down their driveways and sidewalks etc. This area was a water main broke yesterday it was 93 years old and the city has not updated their water service. So my question is how much will the city of Los Angeles be fined for wasting 16 million gallons of water?
