The city of Union is at an important crossroads. The former small town can no longer be governed as though its a 1,000 person village. Change is coming and we have to make sure were prepared. Lets take a look at our government: 1) there is no city administrator, 2) office hours are 10-4, 3) there has been no movement on conducting a review of the 14 year old UTP, 4) the city commission meets once a month and spends two plus hours talking about potholes, speed humps, and drainage issues, and 5) no time is spent establishing and tackling a list of strategic objectives for the city. When deciding who to vote for this November, ask each of the three incumbents: name five specific accomplishments that youve led to position Union for the future? Ask each challenger: what five specific things do you intend to accomplish while in office? Voters, plan to attend the Union Candidates Forum on 10/23. Dont settle for status quo...get informed, and elect leaders who demonstrate vision, energy, communication, and a bias for action. Unions future as a unique, progressive city is at stake.
