The climbing club AGM will be taking place on the evening of Thursday 20th March where the new committee for next year will be voted in. The location and exact time will be confirmed closer to the event. . The positions available and a brief description are: President: Has overall responsibility for the Club and its activities, chairs meetings, oversees the committee, is in overall charge of implementing the program. Also has joint financial responsibility for the club. The president also represents the club at AU council meetings and liaises with the university on behalf of the club. Vice-President: Acts as deputy to the President and takes his/her place when he/she is absent, liaises with the President in the creation of the program for the coming term, deals with training needs for the club and organises the speaker for the Annual Dinner. Also provides assistance to the secretary to relieve their workload when needed and organises the international Easter trip. Secretary: Responsible for the Constitution, minutes, membership records, mailing lists and organisation of the Annual Dinner. He/She also deals with all matters pertaining to the BMC including the Clubs insurance policy and sign-ups for trips. They also book accommodation and transport for the trips. They are also responsible for sharing any of these duties as they see fit with the Vice-President. Treasurer: Responsible for keeping the Accounts of the Club and has joint financial responsibility for the club. Must not be in their final year of study. Publicity Officer: Responsible for preparing material for Fresher’s Fare, club clothing, club calendar, publicising club events and obtaining sponsorship. Gear Secretary: Is responsible for the purchasing, availability and maintenance of Club equipment. Social Secretary: 2 positions available. Responsible for organising all social events, including the Leavers BBQ, Fresher’s Party and the Christmas Dinner and silly AGM challenges. Journal Editor: Organises, edits and prints the UNUMC Journal in time for the Annual Dinner. Website Editor: Responsible for keeping the club website running and up-to-date and monitoring content of online discussion forums. Also posts a weekly video and provides online information for the club trips. Every member is welcome to come along, voice their opinion and vote. Any questions then please feel free to ask.
