The clock is ticking now until Hallowe’en and in community - TopicsExpress

The clock is ticking now until Hallowe’en and in community centres across the city there has been a flurry of activity as groups start putting the final touches to costumes, props and dance routines ahead of the big night. Hundreds will be taking to the streets for the Carnival Festival parade which draws thousands every year. Among them are members of the Kabalikat association who will be re-enacting scenes from Filipino folklore’s Festival of the Dead for the first time during the festival, which will have a big multi-cultural element this year celebrating the city’s rich tapestry of traditions. Don’t miss the Manananggals’, half-bodied flesh-eating women with large wings who come out after dark! I’ve got the heebie jeebies already!
