The colored belts of Karate represent my journey through the martial arts. I began Karate not knowing really what to expect but wanting to challenge myself to see how far I could advance. I soon discovered it was less about reaching a particular level and more about self improvement. For me, it is a journey of seeking perfection in all areas of life while understanding this perfection can never be reached. Although I was already physically active, my journey has improved my physical and mental strength. It has taught me to be more humble, more open minded, more patient, and to have a greater respect for others.
