The complete unmitigated mess of the Koh Tao murder investigations continues. Its fair to say that with this case the world has had an insight into the corruption and the brutality that ordinary Thais suffer on a daily basis. For the families of Hannah Witheridge and David Miller it seems they have been drawn into the kind of lengthy nightmare far too many ordinary Thais have had to endure for decades. I really hope they get justice. Thailand is a country where unarmed school children can be shot and killed by the Thai Army and the murderers not only walk free but continue to be given power and forms of respect they have never deserved. Where students can be hung and burnt alive in the street and progressive news websites applaud the representatives of the govt that trained their killers. Where 3000 people can be roasted alive in steel drums and then be completely erased from history, as though they never existed.
