The conversation about tribalism has shocked me somewhat. I must - TopicsExpress

The conversation about tribalism has shocked me somewhat. I must admit I did not think about it too much until I read through the comments of the last two posts. I am sure the hate mail is much stronger and more personal on those other social media sites. I recommend three steps: 1. That we all ask ourselves why is this matter so prevalent this time? 2. That we look at history in Zambia and how it may have marginalised other tribes in this nation. 3. That we together find a positive practical way forward so we redefine and rebuild our future with new designs. I will not take sides. But will encourage all of us to be self critical. The trouble with tribal, racial, gender or ethnic allegations is even how you talk about them matters. Maybe the starting point of this healthy conversation will be in all of us admitting that we may have ignored the elephant in the room for too long that time has now come to disinfect our consciousness of all prejudice, malice, anger or bitterness. That may be our toughest battle yet.
