The daughters of Hagar; in our tradition it was Hagar our African - TopicsExpress

The daughters of Hagar; in our tradition it was Hagar our African great great grandmother wandering in the Arabian desert with a boy child in her arms who struck the well of Zamzam, without whose living waters, Mecca, & therefore Islamic civilization would not have been viable. We owe Hagar & her daughters depicted here that ongoing debt, which cannot be repaid with all the oil in the newly-discovered wells , whether in South Sudan, Ghana, Gambia, Equatorial Guinea or Angola. Oil floats on top only for the elite, creating an enclave economy , not making the oil-rich African countries any better off than those without oil. Still think oils well that ends well? Try drinking it. So remember the debt we owe to Hagar, to discover, protect, conserve & purify our water sources; it is what the other countries will be after next; it seems the next world war will be fought, not over oil but water. We created every living thing from water The Holy Al-Quran
