The day is almost over... I am praying the vesper for the dead NOT of Christ the King to offer them for the massacre victims in Barangay Salman, Ampatuan Municipality, Province of Maguindanao on the 23 November 2009. There were 58 killed on that day and 32 belonged to the media organizations. The rest belonged to the families of Gov. Toto Mangudadatu and security and people who were simply passing the National Highway on that fateful day. Four years have passed ... The Ampatuan family that includes Datu Andal, his three sons and a son in law and many others have been indicted are in jail. Quite a number still remains at large... and the trials are super SLOW... they have NOT reached the substantive issue of the case or merit of the massacre crime... They are still on the issue of bail! Meanwhile most of the orphans, widows and families of the victims are poor... This is the reason why some are contemplating settlement... Is this JUSTICE Philippine style...? Calling all the proponents of matuwid na daan...! Fr. Jun
