The day is drawin near when I will be headin back to the St. Johns - TopicsExpress

The day is drawin near when I will be headin back to the St. Johns River, and hopefully all will go well and we will beat the storm threatenin to hit us next week. The timin will be good if there are no snags in the plan, but its always a chance for things to go awry. I had a wonderful afternoon with my friend Becky Beatty from Naples who drove down to bring me a pet carrier to help in keepin Rebecca calm durin the ride back home. We went and had a nice dinner and a couple of cocktails. She also took me down to Everglades City to see some of the stuff I missed because I was in such a hurry to get out of thre when on the Huck. It wasnt the people, or the place, buy rather the sounds of the many airboats that kept me from spendin any time there. We visited the Rod & Gun Club, an historic establishment that is pretty darn cool, or should I say hot cause only the guest rooms have AC. The rest is just as it was in the 1860s, but with screens to keep the bugs out. The little town was void of life for the most part because of the heat and it bein the off season and all. Very quiet and peaceful there this afternoon. I put a temporary patch on the Hucks pontoon to stop the leakin so my bilge could take a break...and me too! It only has to last for a short time until I can get him home and back out of the water at the Swamp Shop, or better known as Captn Nats Boat works. This olboys tired and ready to catch a few winks of the eye to be ready for tomorrows rigors. May all have a good night, and a great tomorrow! Captn Nat
