The debate over gun control has now invaded even our smartphones. There’s a new phone app, available free through iTunes, called the Gun Free Zone App. It helps users to identify businesses that ban customers from carrying guns. Users also report on the business owners’ attitudes toward the Second Amendment. The app’s creator is pro-gun rights. He made it to help people avoid businesses that are anti-Second Amendment. But personally, I could see this app being useful to three different groups. Pro-gun people who don’t want to support gun-free businesses. Anti-gun people who do want to support them. And most disturbing of all is the third group: would-be armed robbers and mass shooters, who want to know all the spots where everyone else is unarmed.
