The dedicated volunteers at Zig Zag Railway continue to make slow progress in the aftermath of the State Mine fire that caused millions of dollars damage to the facilities there. A recent post on the Zig Zag Railway Facebook page stated that their immediate priorities are to get a train running; complete repairs to drains, an amenities block and their wooden-bodied Evans carriages; and that they are looking for advice on repairs and maintenance to the Clarence station building as there is interest in reopening the shop there. They are seeking volunteers with skills and experience of all levels to assist with this work. These photos were taken earlier this year and we are looking forward to returning there again soon to see how the recovery efforts are going.
