The devil is extremely cunning the Holy Bible says (Genesis 3:1), and we must be careful and watchful as we walk the narrow road of life (Matthew 24:43). All who trod this path are his targets, and none should be wary or ignorant of his devices; though he remains under the believers authority. We have power over the devil no doubt; but he remains the deceiver, murderer and thief (John 8:44). To reverse the believers authority, satan simply sells him a LIE! The believer prays, reads, quotes the Bible; and often fasts as well. How then can satan reach out to a steadfast believer? For a cunning one, its quite easy, if the believer co-operates. All satan does is get the believer to have any of these, first: pride, anger, greed, lust, fear, doubt, sloth, envy, worry. Then, he gets the believer to buy his lies with his heavenly currency (faith)! The lies satan sells to the true believer, are usually Scripture used out of context, and Scripture twisted (Matthew 4:6). Once the transaction is concluded, power shifts... How can we detect a lie from such a cunning traitor therefore? DISCERNMENT!!! Now discernment isnt just about telling falsehood from truth; thats easy. Discernment (for a Christian) is GRACE to tell Truth from near truth. In these last days and birth pangs of the perilous times, all Christians should pray to God Almighty for His gift of discernment; so we can endure till the end as overcomers (Matthew 24:13). In Christ Jesus always, victory is sure!
