The difference between New tongues Other tongues I hope the disposition of the above discourse will ravish something into our spiritual growth by understanding some of the things through the clearification am going to decode. New tongues In Saint Markss gospel, the 16th chapter and the 17th verse, Jesus said we shall speak in New tongues/language. The word translated as New in the Greek simply mean: fresh, unused, new. New doesnt mean other but means something that was not used before. This new tongues is akin to the unknown tongues in 1Cor14v2. I believed this new tongues is the angelic language that is not known to men (1Cor13v1). This new tongues can only be understood by the speaker and the hearer (God, see 1Cor14v2) and NO MAN understand the one who speaks. Other tongues May I submit to you that other tongues is what happened in Acts2v1-8, wherelse every tribe under heaven HEARD the 120 speaks in their own language, each one of them? Other tongue/language simply mean a language or a tongue different from you own, thus people who speaks that language can hear you, but New/Unknown tongues NO MAN can understandeth thee. In coclusion I have heard people say when you speak in tongues the devil cant hear you and that you are confussing the plans of the devil and demons and stuff...LOL!! Up to so far, I havent come across such a verse in the bible and if there is such, please quote it for me, I stand to be corrected. At the MOUTH of TWO or THREE Witness, every WORD is established.
