The docket this weekend includes(week 8): District 7-4A with District Record Aledo (4-0) @ Southwest (3-1) Aledo -40 Even though this is supposed to be a game of competition for Aledo they still will win huge. This could be the first chance since week two for the starters to go at least three quarters into the game. This is a must win for Aledo to get them one more win closer to the district championship and the #1 seed in district 7-4A. Southwest will come into the game with a chip on their shoulder after losing to Granbury last week but 17 penalties for 175 yards will do that to you. Granbury (4-0) @ Trimble Tech (2-2) Granbury -30 Granbury is a huge favorite in this game as they use it for a tune up for Aledo in week 9. Trimble tech just does not have the ability to keep up with Granbury. South Hills (1-3) @ Wyatt (0-4) South Hills -16 South Hills is obviously the better team but you have to wonder which team will show up. If the team shows up that showed up vs. Arlington Heights then this will be the upset of the week. Arlington Heights (2-2) @ Western Hills (0-4) Arlington Heights -30 Western Hills can be upset all they want that Aledo beat them 91-0 but that will not change the score in this game. Arlington Heights has scored 94 points in their last two games and given up 37. I doubt Heights scores 91 on them though. District 5-4A with District Record Azle (1-3) @ Denton (1-3) Azle -6 Both teams are 1-3 in district with 3 games left to play so more than likely to make the playoffs they will have to win out. With their backs against the wall and based on what they did against Rider last week I think Azle will live to play another day. Denton Guyer (4-0) @ Rider (4-0) Guyer -20 This is basically the district championship game. It will be close early but Guyer will pull away late and Heard will make the plays with his feet when needed. Byron Nelson (2-2) @ Brewer (0-4) Nelson -20 Nelson’s 2 losses are to Rider and Guyer so they are passed the difficult part of their schedule. I see them at least winning 2 of the last 3 to finish at 4-3 and this is not the game they lose. Wichita Falls (3-1) @ Lake Dallas (1-3) WF -16 Wichita Falls also has to play Rider and Guyer so they should go 4-3 as well. Determining the last spot in this district will come down to 3 teams. This district could be a mess when it is all said and done. Others Keller @ SLC SLC -40 SLC’s district is almost as bad as Aledo’s. SLC rolls once again. Stephenville @ Venus in Midlothian S’ville -50 Stephenville crushes Venus in a laugher. Blooming Grove (2-2) @ Tolar (3-1) Tolar -3 Tolar was the surprise team of the week in week 7 and will have their week cut out for them in week 8 as well. This is no “gimme” game for Tolar and I think the score will reflect it. I just want everyone to know that these “spreads” are set by me based on my research. I do not get them from anyone else. I am doing it to see how well I can predict the outcome of each game. The spread is not out there for a team to see so they can cover it. However the coaches coach their teams is up to them.
