The dumbest, most mind boggling, illogical statement ever made in a a discussion of alternative medicine: The reason there is so little research on cranial osteopathy is because there is no money in it. The evidence is enough. The proof is that it works! *blink* *blink blink* There are fifty different kinds on ten different levels of wrong in that statement. There IS research on it. Copious research. EVERY kind of medicine needs to be researched. If someone tells you theres no need, smack them. Hard. Then take their license and sue the ever loving shit out of them because the moment a doctor thinks they know everything they are dangerous to the point of complete incompetence. There is never a whole lot of money being made in research. Of any kind. A whole lot of funding yes, but the people involved are not spending a hundred hours a week, busting their asses to learn about what keeps you safe, for the great paycheck. Yes, research is needed. Its always needed because like it or not, find it comforting or not, your experience and anecdotal evidence cannot be trusted. Ever. Your perceptions are based on biases and expectations that you may not realize you have. Unconscious and environmental influences that impact your perception despite your best efforts to be objective. There is copious research on why you cannot trust your own experience. Why, I know what I saw, it worked for me. Is patently untrue and how your perception is manipulated to elicit a response that is completely made up. Thats why we NEED research. THAT is why we need the scientific method and to understand biases and fallacies and verify every claim. Not to mention the obvious ethical dilemma of either knowingly telling a patient there is no research when there is, or the incompetence involved it not knowing there is at all.
