The earliest football match I could remember is the WC1990 finals between Argentina and West Germany. As a 9 year old, I still remember Argentina losing out on a goal scored from the spot (penalty) in the dying minutes of the 90 min game. I was as heart-broken as was my then sporting idol Diego Maradona, who left Stadio Olimpico Rome in tears draining down his face. 24 years on, its again Argentina vs Germany tonight and I dont want to see Maradona Jr (Lionel Messi) leaving Estadio de Maracna in tears. Come on Le Albiceleste, you have to do it for your own selves, for your country and for alien followers of Argentina football like myself.
