The elected government needs to make bold decisions to achieve a free and fair economic system and and move away from soviet-style policies: halve the number of ministries, impose strict controls on civil servants and the spending of public funds, introduce competition in everything except in electricity and water at this stage, redistribute public subsidies to target the poor and the poor only, set up a merit-based university tuition system and impose a come-back-or-pay-back policy on people who study abroad on government scholarships, adopt a low, flat-rate income tax on individuals, eliminate all bureaucratic procedures that hamper entrepreneurs and reduce taxes on SMEs to a minimum, eliminate all middlemen in the farming sector, strive for the creation of a single market with Algeria and Morocco and perhaps Libya in the future, free all currency exchange, push for a Tunisair-RAM merger and reach out to subsaharan African markets.
