The explanation that this is the best solution just feels like weve given up the fight. On the other hand, I have been to co-parent with a couple to help their son and daughter meet developmental milestones and ready them to launch. Im not a medical doctor and Im treating disadvantaged children, so my opinion hold little weight. What I know is that if I were to see a 2- or 3-year old with these symptoms, I would be hard pressed to distinguish it from normal development. An inadequate parenting situation that isnt abusive requires a different intervention. Yes, medication could help and would help faster, but the underlying toxic environment stays the same. You be the judge.
