The extreme and depriving circumstances of penury, where Modi commenced the struggle of his existence and which developed into impoverishing limitation of resources for subsistence as his father’s family grew, there was no option for him other then adopting a profession of a vendor. There is no frustration more constricting to a parent to allow his child to act a labourer, stealing a valuable time meant for education. Child labor being a compulsion for the poor – a activity forbidden by law now—had never been a societal grace to the family and is condemnable to the system of governance. The recent labor reforms tilting to favor capitalists, under taken by Modi government, is testimonial to Modi’s forgetting his antecedents and to act without empathy to the children encountering the harassment which modi had lived with? Futility on part of Modi in emulating the great MAHATMA is apparent in his exhibition of preferences for designer attire he adorns while the mahatma willfully discarded his cloths except the lion-cloth when he noticed the women inhabitants of India do not have enough to cover their privacy. And this was when Gandhi was at the zenith of his popularity as Modi is now. It is high time now that Modi’s political managers should apprise him of the constitutional directives and thereby it’s expectations that India will be a nation where welfare of the nationals will be the prime motive of governance. All citizens shall be privileged as equal in law, opportunities and that all national resources shall be benefiting all without discrimination and also that the state should ensure that wealth and resources are not concentrated in few hands. Unfortunately Modi is following a policy that is contrary to the expectations of the constitution of India by attempting to make it land of inequalities in terms of wealth; education; health; basic human rights; food and nutrition; and empowerment of groups. Also the political managers of Modi should educate him to see vision of the logic that the emphasis he is providing to increasing GDP as a medicine of all ails is a fake logic. A higher GDP is simply an account of financial transactions and not an indicator of status and number of the poor; hungry; diseased; oppressed; pollution; loot of natural resources; atrocity and violence against women; and a deteriorating law and order situation. If modi thinks that a higher GDP will cover the inequalities of wealth; education and health than he is venturing a paradise that doesn’t belong to wise. Moreover inequalities in wealth; education and health are an infringement on human and constitutional rights of the Indians.
