The fact is that Russia, even if for poorly stated reasons, has no credible option but to stand up to American and European aggressive expansionism in their backyard. The alternative would be to allow the double-edged forces of NATO and European and American economic forces to move in and take over Russia. In other words, to finish the job which Hitlers Nazis failed to accomplish. The real tragedy of the situation is that of how the Americans and the Europeans can manipulate things in such a way that they always appear to be the good guys, with morality on their side, when in fact they are always steep in perfidy and treachery. They are no angels, and the Russians have more justification for taking the realpolitik action which they are taking. Like their struggle against the Nazi in the Second World War, they have to see this through; at whatever cost.
