“The fact the children can make beautiful music is less significant the fact that music makes beautiful children”. – Cheryl Lavender This lovely quote hits home to the very core of why we work so hard to make Liberty Youth Chorus a successful children’s choir. Yes, children can make beautiful music, and we plan to educate them to be able to do so. But more importantly, singing and learning to enjoy great choral literature at a young age increases a child’s awareness of other cultures, countries and languages around the world, encourages team work scenarios on a daily basis, enhances self-esteem, and encourages positive interactions with those around them and gives them a lifelong tool which can be used to enhance their life and the life of others for years to come. The beautiful music is the spring board we use to mold the young voices of our community into beautiful children, ready to share their voices, their talents, and their lives with the world around them. I am so grateful to have a small part in the endeavor and I invite you to come join our song!
