The family of 17 year old #JordanDavis finally sees justice for the death of their son at the hands of #MichaelDunn. He was sentenced today to life in prison after prosecutors declined to seek the death penalty, which is in line with Floridas mandatory sentencing laws. I am happy that Dunn seems remorseful now & apologized to the Davis family in court. He shot Jordan over a dispute over loud music then fled the scene. You just cant go around shooting at people because they are playing loud music. There are a number of better ways to have handled this but Dunn allowed his temper to take over. I hate to say it, but I doubt he would have shot into a car with white teen boys playing loud country music. Well, now he has the rest of his life to think about it: Dunn was convicted of first-degree murder at a second trial in September after jurors deadlocked on the charge at his initial trial in February. Prosecutors say Dunn, who is white, fired 10 times into a sport utility vehicle carrying black teenagers in November 2012 and killed 17-year-old Jordan Davis of Marietta, Georgia.Evidence showed that Dunn, of Satellite Beach, fired the shots during a heated argument over the volume of music coming from the SUV carrying Davis and three other teenagers. Dunn was convicted of three counts of second-degree murder in his first trial because he continued to fire into the Dodge Durango as the driver tried to flee. Healey on Friday sentenced him to a minimum of 60 years in prison for those charges, to be served consecutively with the life sentence. news.yahoo/fla-man-gets-life-prison-loud-music-killing-155430146.html
