The figures also showed a significant drop in deportations by Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the agency that handles formal removals, to 315,943 in the 2014 fiscal year, a decrease of more than 52,701, or 14 percent, from the previous fiscal year. (Fiscal years end Sept. 30.) The statistics revealed the full extent of the shift by the agency, known as ICE, toward border operations and away from deportations in the interior of the country. Less than a third of the agency’s overall deportations were of immigrants arrested in places away from the borders. The figures could present a problem for President Obama and Homeland Security officials, who have vigorously defended the president’s executive actions on immigration that allowed millions of undocumented immigrants to remain in the United States and to work without fear of deportation. Mr. Obama has justified the measures by arguing that Congress had appropriated enough funds for agents to carry out 400,000 deportations each year. The president said he moved to protect some immigrants from deportation so that agents could focus on criminals and national security threats. (The figures COULD PRESENT A PROBLEM for Obama... really? Whys that? So far they havent. Would it have something to do with him completely breaking every law, or simply not enforcing any, where illegal immigration is concerned? Or because its so clear now to everyone how insincere his whole Deporter-in-Chief head fake was? After all, we dont want to break up families, we want ENTIRE EXTENDED FAMILIES to keep crossing the border with impunity . The guys policy, like La Raza and the others, is to have completely open borders. Anybody whos still confused about that needs their head examined. The idea that there just arent 400,000 lawbreakers among the many many millions (many many more than the bogus 11 million figure they always use, since that figure never seems to grow, even though all the numbers regarding incoming do) and that his MINIMAL (albeit illegal) quota cant even be filled...is a complete outrage.
