The finishing touches on this evening’s message are done. My - TopicsExpress

The finishing touches on this evening’s message are done. My wife’s been busy in the kitchen and the aromas filling the house are making it a bit hard to concentrate. Earlier she filled all the bird feeders and suet cages. The birds - and two very plump squirrels - have been tucking into their Christmas Eve feast with gusto. Each time I look out the window, I’m thankful that my wife allowed me the room with the bay window for my study. I so enjoy looking out the window from time to time as I read, write, and pray. Matthew 6:26-27 always rolls through my mind: “Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father fees them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?” And I’m ever reminded our lives, our times, and all our ways are in His loving hands. Thanking God for all of you and wishing you a blessed Christmas and the peace that comes from knowing you are beloved by God. The mystery of His love for us is so great! Why should we be valuable to Him? Why would He be willing to take on the frailty of our human flesh and become one of us? Because we needed a Savior. “She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.” (Matthew 1:21) Immanuel, God with us!
