The first 3 months of 2014 have been very difficult for LAW. In spite of our best efforts our income amounted to 130,000 and expenditure was 150,000. It is proving almost impossible to raise 50,000 each month. The only answer is to cut our expenditure and this is very difficult in view of the huge number of sick and injured dogs and cats which arrive daily. Our Veterinary bills for 2013 amounted to 98,657. We now need to put up a temporary Puppy isolation unit as we have an outbreak of Parvo Virus at the kennels. We are costing this at the moment. Our present isolation facilities are not adequate to deal with the situation. A huge thank you to all the Staff who are doing their best to care for the sick dogs. We are advising everyone to make sure that their dogs are fully vaccinated especially the young puppies and also the elderly dogs. The Parvo Virus vaccine is reliable and will protect the dogs and help stop the virus spreading.
