The first Tuesday of December 1 year ago, I sat down with Michael - TopicsExpress

The first Tuesday of December 1 year ago, I sat down with Michael and Josh (the outgoing and incoming presidents) to tell them I planned to shave my head to fight childhood cancer. They were both happy enough that I was merely asking for their support and not asking them to shave their heads as well, that they happily and wholeheartedly agreed. About an hour later, I told the Board of Trustees of my plans. And talked a little bit about Sam, Phyllis, and Michael Sommer and all the rabbis that were joining together to support them in this project. Since then, Ive been consistently overwhelmed by the amount of support that Ive received from the Temple Temple-Beth-El community, and all communities Im part of. People who have given me moral support and financial support--who have laughed and cried with me--who have shared their own stories and have earnestly and tearfully followed the story of #supermansam and continue to do so. But were not done. We are still raising money and the problem is still there. Kids are still getting sick. Treatments are still inadequate. Children are still dying. Today was #givingtuesday, but its not too late to give. Help us. If you gave last year, give again in this calendar year. Help us achieve our current goal of $1,000,000 (including a matching grant for funds raised since October) and help us come nearer to our bigger goal of saving lives. As an added bonus, give so that you can see the splendid video that were making to Mark Wahlbergs Good Vibrations, because hes shaving his head, too. The amazingness that I have already received from a few of the #36rabbis is well worth seeing--I can only imagine what others will send me in order to craft it into a music video masterpiece (or at least the source of a good laugh). So give. Continue to support us. Continue to help us. Please. Please give now. Every small amount helps. Seriously. And you can even give anonymously!! To the video fund below or to my page https://stbaldricks.org/participants/rabbiisa or to any of the 36 rabbis pages!!
