The first job I ever had was working at a drive-through dairy store. I was 18, and just out of high school. But the first work I ever did for pay was in 1962 or so (I was 9), when they were putting in a park behind our house in Cypress, CA. I went across the street and helped them carry things, handed them tools and supplies, and little stuff like that. At the end of the day, they collected change from the workers, and gave it to me, with thanks! You develop a work ethic pretty quickly, that way. ;)
