The first new car I ever bought was a 1979 Volvo 242 sedan, when I was single. My husband had an icy day head-on crash in it around 1987, if I recall correctly, and survived with just a scratch on his elbow and a hole in his favorite shirt. He was NOT wearing his seatbelt either. Every car Ive owned since then has been a Volvo, and Im now driving my fourth Volvo, a 1996 960 wagon with limited slip differential and studs all around. My son is driving that car today in Anchorages ice storm as his Subaru is having electrical issues. Maybe we should sell the house and buy a Volvo truck with RV in tow and live in it…Volvo knows how to make heaters that work, too.
