The first night of the Open Wheel Nationals was bittersweet. Jake - TopicsExpress

The first night of the Open Wheel Nationals was bittersweet. Jake Kouba had a great heat, leading to the last lap. He boxed himself in with a car he was lapping and gave up the lead. 2nd. Put him front tow outside for the feature. I started last on the heat worked up to 5th. Car was good but I could find a way to pass. I earned a 12 spot in the feature starting grid. Jake bolted to the lead in the feature. Might have landed his second win but the car gave him up. Water leak and a miss forced him to pull off 2/3 thru. Meanwhile my car was good. I worked my way to 3rd by the time jake was done. Now in second I challenged for the lead many times but couldnt quite get it done. Crossed the checkered 2nd by less than a foot. felt good... But then... The car did not pass tech inspection our carb boosters had worked themselves too high. DQd for the night. Hit the carb straightened out already and jakes car looks to be good yo go. Now for night 2!
